My backyard garden is growing huge, lettuce is practically on its way out by now, so it’s definitely time to report an update. By now I’ve got 7 tomato plants (bushes?) – all red and yellow cherries, 3 types lettuces, parsley, cilantro, oregano, sweet red peppers, sage, lemon balm, green and white onions, garlic, basil! Yay, it’s amazing how much stuff is growing out of the same earth and water, and how much abundance is produced so fast! All this green deliciousness makes me super happy 😀
So here’s my usual bunch of wonderful parsley, different lettuces and green onions, with the garden itself at the background. All this will be chopped up into a delicious salad right now! 😀
Having a backyard garden in the summer (even a tiny one like mine!) is so awesome! I tried it once couple years ago and got addicted since, now every spring I’m like a zombie buying buying every little veggie plant I see in home depot, whole foods, farmers markets often arriving home with way much more stuff than I planned to get. But when the summer comes, it’s such a rewarding experience to see all those tiny plants growing into huge bushes that are actually feeding us for months! Shortly speaking, go gardens! 😀 And even if you don’t have a backyard now, start a mini garden on your balcony or in your kitchen windwo sill, it’s pretty easy to set up and having your own home grown salad greens/herbs is so fulfilling, it’s well worth it!
