Loving the East side! The most beautiful views at every corner, pristine lakes, huge parks on the mountains, views of the Cascades and Olympic range on sunny days. Wow. Funny how we never even thought of going to check it out during our first visit in Seattle in 2010, maybe because several people mentioned that the East side area is ‘bourjois’ and uninteresting (really huh?). But nobody mentioned its wonderful beauty. I’m not even sure which one I like better now – Seattle or the East side.
I really like Bellevue and Kirkland. Bellevue is more vibrant and new, mostly owned by Microsoft, with tall buildings, nice malls, beautiful views and easy access to highways.
Kirkland – a bit older, more on the quiet side, more residential, with unobstructed view and path along Lake Washington, with cute downtown and great art all around. Both are great and hard to decide which one is preferable. Although, access to the lake while unobstructed in Kirkland, is all privately owned in Bellevue, which makes Kirkland more appealing to me.
