Broccoli with Sunflower Seeds

Quite simple and super delicious broccoli with sunflower seeds recipe.

Broccoli with Sunflower Seeds


–   ¼ yellow onion chopped
–   1-2 cloves garlic chopped
–   ~1/2 cup grapeseed oil or cold pressed olive oil
–   Black pepper to taste
–   Salt to taste
–   1 tsp italian seasoning
–   1 average head broccoli separated into florets
–   ½ average tomato, chopped
–   1 tbsp fresh mint chopped
–   1 tbsp or more sunflower seeds
–   Mashed potatoes prepared in advance

Broccoli with Sunflower Seeds


In a large skillet pour the oil and lightly saute onion and garlic, then add tomato. When onion is turning golden, add broccoli, italian seasoning, salt, pepper, sunflower seeds and mint*. Mix everything well, cover with lid, bring heat to maximum, then turn off the stove and let stay for 5-10min. This way the broccoli will be cooked but still crisp. Serve on top of mashed potatoes with some cucumbers and definitely some avocados.

*If you want, you can sprinkle the ingredients in skillet with cooking soy sauce at this point, this will add some sweetness.
